Monitoring the progress of pupils

  • To facilitate the checking of progress, all children are regularly assessed.
  • Junior primary pupils are assessed in all learning areas on an ongoing basis.
  • The senior primary pupils write a cycle test each Tuesday. The timetable for these tests is published at the beginning of each term.
  • Twice a year the senior primary pupils write formal examinations.
  • The grade 7 pupils write benchmark examinations in the core subjects. This process is under the auspices of ISASA.
  • A progress report is issued at the end of each term.
  • There is a parent-teacher meeting on a Saturday morning within the first two weeks of each new term.
  • Teachers also communicate regularly with parents through the homework diary.
  • Parents may phone the school secretary and set up appointments with either the headmaster, deputy headmaster or the subject teacher.
